Harrison County to Improve 911 System

April 1, 2018–

Another Missouri county has selected Midland GIS Solutions to develop their parcel mapping GIS program.  Located in Shelbyville, Missouri in Northeast Missouri, Shelby County had been using paper resources for tax mapping for many years. The new Assessor and County Commissioners recognized a need for a more manageable system that would benefit the assessment office staff.  They chose to move forward with a County Wide GIS program and selected Midland GIS to assist the county’s efforts.

Shelby County is approximately 500 square miles with a population of approximately 6,000.  The staff at Midland GIS Solutions will be building the county GIS program from the ground up utilizing Esri GIS technology.  This system will be constructed with resources including deeds, surveys, plats, current tax maps, aerial photography and state data to digitize all parcels within the county jurisdiction

Most, but not all counties in the state of Missouri have functioning GIS programs that are supporting tax assessment operations, soil calculations, voting, and public works.  Of the 114 counties in Missouri, Midland GIS Solutions now provides services to 60 of those counties, more than all other firms combined.  This further demonstrates the solid reputation Midland GIS has in developing excellent programs to our clients with unrivaled support by an expert GIS staff.

Midland GIS Solutions has provided county GIS development and support services to counties throughout the Midwest for nearly 20 years.  Headquartered in Maryville, Missouri, our firm continually strives to provide the very best programs built on Esri technology.
