Quality Control & Maintenance

Midland’s staff of GIS professionals follows a comprehensive protocol for Quality Assurance and Quality Control on every GIS project. QA/QC can include the assessment of aerial photography, and evaluations of parcel databases, discrepancies and topology. Some additional QA/AC procedures in place to ensure the integrity of your GIS project include the following:

  • A dedicated full-time QA/QC Supervisor
  • Map maintenance (if applicable) for the client throughout the GIS development process
  • Topology rules applied throughout data development process, not just at the end of the project
  • On-screen and hard copy map checks by Quality Control Manager upon completion of pre-defined sections
  • All maps are checked with PLTS Data Reviewer for completeness and compared to original maps provided by the client for accuracy
  • The QA/QC Manager reviews every dimension, label and annotation on the map
  • All databases are reviewed and status reports are provided to the client throughout development

On–Going Maintenance:

To fit the unique mapping needs of each client, Midland GIS Solutions provides on-going map maintenance programs. These maintenance programs ensure that each client has a successful GIS mapping program with the resources they have available. Clients interested in map maintenance programs can include entities that do not have the staff, time or equipment to maintain their developed GIS program. Midland’s map maintenance program includes, but is not limited to the following services:

  • GPS locations of new features & integration into GIS map
  • Regular map changes and parcel updates
  • Integration of new data layers
