Ethan Herbek, GISP has received certification through the National Association of Sewer Service Companies for the Manhole, Pipeline, and Lateral Assessment Certification Program (MACP, PACP, LACP). This training and certification program provides North American industry standards for professionals providing manhole, pipe, and lateral assessments on sewer systems.
This testing curriculum focuses on training utility professionals on recognizing and analyzing defects within the sewer infrastructure. These standards support more uniform determination of a pipe or manhole’s maintenance and rehabilitation needs. This assessment data is routinely used by contractors and engineers in determining design and investment needs to rectify problems with aging sewer infrastructure to help reduce the chance of emergency repairs and comply with federal inflow and infiltration regulations.
Ethan Herbek is the Municipal Project Manager at Midland GIS Solutions and has managed hundreds of municipal utility projects across the Midwest providing accurate GPS data collection and manhole inspections. He has overseen the accurate integration of hundreds of thousands of sanitary and storm sewer features and integrated countless video and photo data of pipeline and manhole assessments. Midland GIS Solutions has routinely mapped and coded PACP data in conjunction with GIS pipeline and manhole features so utilities can more effectively analyze and approach the problems within the sewer system.
Ethan has been with Midland GIS Solutions since 2004 and holds a B.S. in Geography and GIS from Northwest Missouri State University. He is a certified GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional) and now certified in NASSCO MACP/PACP/LACP. He has managed GIS and inspection projects for endless cities, public utilities, and counties as well as NASA, Army Corp of Engineers, Nebraska National Guard, and the United Stated Army.
