Missouri Public Utility Alliance held their 2016 Spring Tech Days on March 16th in Trenton and March 17th in West Plains and invited Midland GIS to be a part of their operator training. Kirk Larson, Sr. Vice President and Erin Allen, Business Development Director presented on GIS data development and integration for water distribution, wastewater collection, and electric distribution systems. The goal of the training was to introduce and educate operators on the benefits and uses of GIS as it pertains to their utilities and current technologies and practices that are being used in the industry.

“Regulatory mandates and joint use policy, specifically in Missouri, have put increasing pressure on utilities to improve their maintenance and inventory records. We understand the stress this puts on daily work responsibilities, especially when staff might be short-handed. The goal is to help utility personnel understand what GIS can do for them on a daily basis and how to approach a mapping project.” – Erin Allen, Business Development Director. Midland GIS Solutions has provided GIS services for many MPUA cities in support of their utilities and asset management.
