Midland GIS Solutions specializes in mutual aid GIS mapping to meet the needs and requirements of cities ranging in size, existing GIS capabilities and financial resources. Midland’s G-MAP project in Kansas has yielded an impressive network of mutual aid cities through the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency (KMEA) that are pursuing GIS to manage and maintain their utility systems. This program will allow participating cities to better serve their communities in time of disaster.

To date, nine KMEA cities are participating in the G-MAP program. These cities can instantly access digital and hard-copy maps of all GPS-located utility components and quickly provide Mutual Aid responders with standardized utility maps for damage assessment following a disaster. To highlight Midland’s mutual aid mapping services and the success of the G-MAP project, KMEA dedicated a significant portion of their Annual Report to focus on “The Power of G-MAP”.
